Lesson Summary:

Here is a nice word – symbiosis. It refers to a close relationship between two different organisms or species. When the relationship is beneficial to both organisms we call it this variety of symbiosis mutualism. This is what we are going to look at today.
One mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship is that of the clownfish and the sea anemone.
Because of the sea anemone’s stinging tentacles most creatures which come too near to it are paralyzed and then eaten. So how, and why, does the clownfish manage to live in close contact to the sea anemone without becoming its prey?
